The 2006 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo delivered record growth, organizers of the show announced today. With over 350 exhibiting companies that occupied nearly 300,000 square feet of exhibit space, the show has demonstrated tremendous growth after only eight years as a stand-alone event. The AVN Adult Entertainment Expo is produced by Home Entertainment Events.

"Exhibitor, trade, and fan responses have been phenomenal," said show manager Janet Gibson. "We supplied numerous ways for exhibitors and trade attendees to participate in the show. By enlarging and targeting our efforts with the B2B Marketplace, G-spot Fan/Trade section, and GAYVN areas, the exhibitors and attendees had more space to cover, but it was instrumental in helping attendees navigate the show, which has grown to two exhibit halls in the Sands Expo Center."

"The diversity of the adult entertainment industry was on display at this year's AVN Adult Entertainment Expo," said AVN President Paul Fishbein. "The wide range of products including cutting-edge technology, the emerging alt-porn movement, and sexual enhancement products for couples indicates that the industry is ready to serve the needs of adult retailers, as well as consumers that seek to celebrate their sexuality."

According to Digital Playground's publicist Adella O'Neal, "AVN's 2006 Adult Entertainment Expo was an excellent meeting ground to make new business contacts and solidify existing relationships. Each year the show grows, providing more visibility for our company, products and stars. We are already eagerly planning for AVN's 2007 Adult Entertainment Expo."

"This year was by far the best for Vivid, Club Jenna, and Teravision," said Howard Levine, national sales director for Vivid Entertainment Group. "We broke all sales records for previous years and the lines to see our stars seemed to never end."

"The show was a big success for Hustler/VCA and Vivid," said Jeff Hawkins. "I think we had more traffic at our booth than in years past."

Preliminary attendance figures reveal that 32,000 exhibitor, trade, talent, press, and fan attendees were at the 2006 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo, an increase of 5% over the previous year's event.

On the evening of Thursday, January 5, the 2006 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo threw the first-ever Official Opening Night Party at the Body English nightclub at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Sponsored by AVN, New Sensations, Wicked Pictures, and Zero Tolerance, the event attracted partiers from both the Expo and Internext. Partygoers were seen enjoying the luxurious chocolate desserts, imbibing from the creative and fully functional ice sculpture, and getting busy on the dance floor. The party, which was sold out weeks prior to the event, drew over 1500 attendees.

"It was an excellent turnout for such an exclusive event and from what I witnessed a great time was had by all," said Scott Taylor, President of New Sensations

"From our perspective, the party was a success," said Zero Tolerance Entertainment's Greg Alves. "It afforded us the opportunity to entertain our clients in an entertaining and relaxed environment. It was also a nice contrast to the frenetic pace at our [AEE] booth."

Anticipation for the next AVN Adult Entertainment Expo is high with new show dates and configurations set for 2007. The 2007 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo will take place Wednesday, January 10 to Saturday, January 13, 2007. The Wednesday-to-Saturday configuration is a departure from the Thursday-to-Sunday configuration of previous shows. The 2007 event will return to the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
