Dancer Magazine’s special Christmas CenterStage girl
is none other than the one and only, Anne Marie Rios. She is an
AVN award winner and host of Playboy Radio’s “Private
Calls” on Sirius/XM satellite radio channel 99. This Latin
sex-kitten also pens a sex column for Latina Magazine entitled “Between
the Sheets with Ann Marie.” We here at PDM were lucky enough
to catch Ann Marie during a break in her hectic schedule to sit
down with us for this interview.

Dancer Magazine (PDM): Where are you from
originally?
Ann Marie Rios (AMR): Born and
raised in the suburbs of Los Angeles, very close to Six Flags Magic
Mountain. I currently live in the hills of Hollywood.
PDM:
What was your life like growing up?
AMR: I was very active growing up. I played softball
for 6 1/2 years, and boxed for a while when I was a teenager. I
spent my summers on boats at the lake with my family, winters in
cabins snow skiing, and riding dirt bikes. I got my first Quad AT
when I was 5 years old.
PDM:
How and when did you decide to get into the business?
AMR: It was not really a decision I strategically
made. I was 19 years old then, I had hung with the wild girls in
high school, and we liked to have fun. I just kinda went with things
that sounded crazy and fun. At that time I already had obtained
my Realtors license and was working on the sales team of a seasoned,
successful agent. My job was so serious, and demanding to someone
my age, so I had to find something to appease the naughty girl inside
me. I grew up 30 miles north of "porn valley" or the adult
industry's version of Hollywood, Chatsworth CA, so it just kind
of happened.
PDM:
What was your first experience in the business like?
AMR: Quiet. LOL. I was so nervous and quiet. My
high school girlfriend had agreed to be in a movie with TT Boy,
and she asked me to join in. I was so naive when it came to porn
at that age, I did not really understand what "making a movie"
really meant. I knew I was game. I was so nervous, but I was game.
PDM:
Does your family know about your chosen profession and how do they
feel about it?
AMR: Yes. My mom found out when an ex boyfriend
of mine duct taped hardcore sex pictures of me all over my family's
house. My extended family found out from a competitive cousin of
mine who is too nosey and has too much time on her hands. The family
I truly care about, does not treat me any differently, the high
and mighty church going side of my family does not talk to me, but
we had not been close in years anyway so it's no real loss. Some
of my cousins tell me they are bummed they can not watch those channels
anymore for fear they will see me, but for the most part I am really
lucky how decent my family is about it.
PDM:
What do you like about the business?
AMR: I love doing my Playboy Radio and TV work.
I like the adventure of always doing something and (some times someone)
new, traveling, performing and entertaining, meeting new people,
and having a great time doing it.
PDM:
What don't you like?
AMR: Constantly being judged and stereotyped, Always
having to prove myself. I do not like how the industry has grown
so much, that it does not quite feel like the dysfunctional family
it did before.
PDM:
What sort of things were you interested in when you were younger?
AMR: I liked being active. I played volleyball,
and I loved video games and board games. However, I always made
sure to be at the hot spot party on the weekend.
PDM:
What personality trait or traits would your friends say best described
you as a young girl? Also please explain your answer.
AMR: They would say that I was always there for
them when they needed me. That they could count on me.
PDM:
What are your hobbies and interests outside of the work?
AMR: I love new experiences. However I also love
to stay home with my dogs and hang with my family and friends. I
enjoy practicing yoga. I am certified as an instructor, in hatha
/ vinyasa flow. And just for fun, I enjoy taking pictures.
PDM:
Personally and/or professionally, what you do see yourself doing
in 5 years? In 10 years?
AMR: I will be building my getaway spot in my native
land of Costa Rica and surfing there more. When I am no longer in
front of camera I would like to continue working in radio and be
the female version of Howard Stern. (I know NO one can be like Howard
Stern, but a radio talk show host hopeful can dream right?)
PDM:
Have you ever danced before and what did you like or not like?
AMR: I danced one night recently here in Los Angeles,
just to prepare myself, and get my dancing feet ready. It was so
exhilarating! I really got a rush from the live crowd, much different
than any on set experience. I cannot wait to truly get out on the
road!
PDM:
When will you start feature dancing?
AMR: In January of 2010. You can find out where

PDM:
What made you start traveing as a feature dancer?
AMR: I want to start featuring because A) I love
to dance. B) I love to travel, and C) I want to meet people from
all around the country/world.
PDM:
What do you have planned for your shows? Costumes, music etc
AMR: Each show is going to have a theme, with music
that matches the theme, and makes me feel good. Some I am putting
together with different pieces from all over, and some of them I
am having custom made. I really have a special place in my heart
for the men and women in the military, so I am having a custom outfit
made for a show that will be a "tribute to the military".
I cant wait to hit the road, see more of the world, meet some people,
and have some fun!
PDM:
Single, Looking or Married and what do you look for in a guy?
AMR: I am single. I am not looking at the moment,
my life is so crazy busy, maybe later. I look for a gentleman. I
appreciate a man who can open doors, and pull out chairs. There
are less and less of them around these days it seems. Also, I love
when a guy can make me laugh.
PDM:
What do you value most in life?
AMR: The people who mean something to me, and to
whom I mean something to. Family, friends, supporters, and of course
my two favorite four-legged pups, Coco and Pebbles.
PDM:
What projects you are currently working on?

PDM:
What can we expect from you in the very near future?
AMR: I do have some things brewing, check out my

I'll tell you about it just as soon as I can. 2010 is going to be
a full year. Also plan to see me chatting via webcam a few times
a month.
PDM:
