Legendary
Julia Ann
Private
Dancer Magazine is honored to present as its first CenterStage girl
for 2009, a woman who is one of the most highly decorated performers
in the adult entertainment industry EVER! You know her as Julia
Ann, member of both AVN and Exotic Dancer Hall of Fames, half of
the Legendary Feature Duo Act “Blondage,” and former
contract girl with Digital Playground, Vivid Entertainment and Wicked
Pictures. The list just goes on and on. And fortunately for us she’s
not done yet.
“I've had such wonderful experiences in the industry,”
says Julia. “Of course there are always negative situations
at work, but that happens in every job. I might be pissed that I'm
having sex on a car in winter, in the desert, but even frozen sex
is better that digging ditches to me.”
Born and raised in the L.A. area, her family made sure she was enrolled
in some sort of activity. “I have taken ballet, tap, jazz,
modern, belly dancing, horse back riding, typing, calligraphy, ceramic
flute making and I'm sure many other classes that I've forgotten
about,” she explains.
“My mother and grandmother, who just passed away this past
April, taught me how to cook and the joys of old movies. My father
taught me how to shoot guns and fish (can't fish anymore. I feel
too sorry for the fish). And my aunt took me horse back riding and
instilled in me my love of critters.”
In 1991, Julia Ann, along with best friend Janine Lindemulder, formed
“Blondage” and toured the world, performing in front
of standing-room-only crowds til 1998. “The story of ‘Blondage’
has been told and told again, so I will just say this...”
Julia says fondly. “It was two best friends who loved to go
clubbing and decided to take our love of dancing to a bigger level.”
“For years we drank like rock stars and packed clubs to the
brim. We fucked a couple people along the way. But as many people
do, we took separate roads and aren't active in each others worlds
anymore.”
Today, this blonde-haired beauty continues to perform in front of
the camera as well as a make-up artist behind the scenes. “For
the first time since the first year of my career, I'm a free agent
-- well, maybe not so free,” she says with a laugh. “I've
really had a good time working for and with different people. It
would be hard to pick any one movie or company that's my favorite,
so I'll name the ones that jump into my head first: Zero Tolerance,
the Cougar Club was awesome; Brazzers.com; Lexington Steele; Jules
Jordan; Chris Streams, I loved the baby oil; Triangle Films; and
soooooo many more.”
When not working Julia Ann enjoys SCUBA diving, home improvements,
dinner parties, and her four dogs. She also likes to spend time
with her “Peeps! Lisa Ann, Melissa Monet, Dyanna Lauren, Sinnamon
Love, Christy Canyon, Brett Brando, Prince, Sean Michaels, Jax,
David Lord, Va-gina and the rest of my crew.”
After accomplishing so much in the adult industry, is there anything
left for Julia Ann?
“I'm very content with my accomplishments as an adult film
actress,” she answers. “As far as the future goes, I'm
trying to learn how to be in the moment. My life has been about
what am I going to do tomorrow, until now. I'm hoping to still be
healthy in 5-10 years and to be a better friend, daughter, sister,
lover and SCUBA DIVER!”
“There is talk about doing "A Day in the Life" for
Brazzers highlighting my love of SCUBA. Hopefully I'll get to play
a little mermaid for a day.”
